The board of directors of PZ Cussons Nigeria Plc has announced the retirement of the Chief Executive Officer of the conglomerate and the appointment of a new one.
This was disclosed in a notification that was signed by the Company Secretary/Legal Adviser, Jacqueline Ezeokwelume, and sent on March 12, 2020, to the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE).
In the statement, the company disclosed that its Chief Executive Officer, Mr Christos Giannopoulos would retire from the company with effect from June 30, 2020.
The company also revealed the appointment of Mr Panagiotis Katsis as its new Chief Executive Officer with effect from July 1, 2020.
Christo Giannopoulos, who has an undergraduate degree from the University of Derby joined PZ Cussons (UK) in July 1988 and has over the years served the company in various roles and functions across the business before rising to the position of Chief Executive Officer in Nigeria in 2009.
The CEO has served in other capacities within the conglomerate. They include Executive Director, PZ Cussons Ghana Limited, Director HPZ Nigeria Ltd, Director PZ Wilmar Nigeria Ltd and so on.
The Board expressed its appreciation to Mr. Giannopoulos for his service over the years.
