GB Foods Africa, producers of Gino Tomato have begun construction of their ₦20bn tomato paste project in Kebbi state.
This will put a stop to the import of the product from their factories in Europe and boost local production.
The tomato factory is to be built on a 1000-hectare farmland in Ngaski, Kebbi State and “designed to be the largest of its kind in Sub-Saharan Africa” said Dr. Teddy Ngu, the Director, Cooperative Affairs and Agricultural Business.
The factory establishment will also provide 1,500 jobs to the unemployed upon completion to the host community.
