In a bid to enhance community health and wellness, Reddington Multi-Specialists Hospital, Lagos, partnered with Oba Abdulwasiu Omogbolahan Lawal, the Oniru of Iruland, Victoria Island, Lagos, to organize a free medical outreach for the Oniru community. The event, held at the Oniru Palace on Wednesday, September 24, 2025, offered free consultations, health screenings, nutrition counselling, pharmacy services, referral services, and health education.

A 53-member medical team from Reddington Hospital, comprising doctors, nurses, nutritionists, pharmacists, laboratory scientists, dentists, physiotherapists, and ophthalmologists, attended to residents, ensuring a comprehensive multi-specialist approach to community healthcare.

Speaking at the event, Dr. Abiodun Osibamowo, Medical Director of Reddington Hospital, emphasized the importance of regular health screenings and preventive care. “You don’t wait until you start seeing symptoms before coming to the hospital. Early detection and counselling are key to sustainable health and general wellness,” he said. Dr. Osibamowo added that the partnership with Oniru-in-Council stems from Oba Lawal’s dedication to improving the lives of his community since ascending the throne five years ago.

Oba Lawal commended Reddington Hospital for its commitment, highlighting that the outreach provided quality healthcare at zero cost for residents who might otherwise struggle to afford such services. “I am passionate about the health and wellbeing of my people, which is why we are partnering with a reputable hospital like Reddington to ensure a healthy, productive community,” he stated.

The outreach also featured an interactive Q&A session, where Dr. Osibamowo addressed topics such as high blood pressure, stroke, obesity, cancer, and ulcer prevention, stressing the importance of healthy diets, regular exercise, and consistent medical check-ups.

The program benefited over 500 residents, including men, women, and children. Beneficiaries expressed gratitude for the initiative, noting the educational value and the relief from high medical costs. “I learnt a lot about preventing high blood pressure and stroke. This program should be more regular,” said Mrs. Ige Salako.
