StarTimes’ OTT Platform – StarTimesON has been adjudged Africa’s Best Content App Awards on Digital Impact Awards Africa 2019 (DIAA) held in Uganda.
StarTimes was nominated in two categories; Africa Best Content App, and Disruptive Innovation (Uganda).
In the ‘Africa Best Content App’ category, the StarTimes ON App was up against Kwese iflix, DSTV Now and Netflix and StarTimes won the accolade.
StarTimes ON was introduced to Africa in response to the astonishing increase in the application of mobile devices and is well recognized and popularized in Africa.
The CEO of Star DTV (Uganda) Co., Ltd, Franklin Wang said: “It was a tough competition! We were nominated alongside other equally successful companies so it is a great honor winning this award. We thank our customers for their support and DIAA for the recognition.”
The DIAA is a platform that promotes Digital inclusion, financial inclusion and cyber security.
