Rite Food Limited

In commemoration of the International Day of Education, Rite Foods Limited has once again demonstrated its commitment to advancing access to quality education while promoting sustainability across the communities where it operates. The Nigerian food and beverage company reaffirmed its belief that education remains one of the most powerful tools for social inclusion, economic growth, and long-term national development.

Guided by its corporate social responsibility agenda, Rite Foods carried out targeted educational outreach programmes in selected public primary schools within underserved communities across Lagos State and Ogun State. The initiative reflects the company’s understanding that meaningful impact begins at the grassroots, particularly in early education, where support can significantly influence learning outcomes and future opportunities.

As part of the outreach, pupils received essential learning materials, including school bags and exercise books, aimed at easing academic challenges and encouraging sustained engagement with learning. For many of the beneficiaries, the intervention provided practical relief while reinforcing the importance of education as a pathway to personal and societal progress.

What distinguished the programme was its deliberate integration of sustainability into social impact. The school bags distributed to pupils were produced from recycled post-consumer packaging waste sourced from Rite Foods’ product portfolio, including Bigi Soft Drinks, Fearless Energy Drinks, bottled water, and sausage packaging. By repurposing used materials into functional educational tools, the company underscored its commitment to environmental stewardship and circular economy practices.

Beyond the distribution of materials, each school visit featured interactive learning sessions designed to engage pupils on topics such as responsible consumption, waste recycling, and environmental protection. Through practical demonstrations and age-appropriate discussions, pupils were introduced to sustainability concepts that encourage long-term behavioural change and environmental consciousness.

Commenting on the initiative, the Head of Corporate Affairs and Sustainability at Rite Foods, Ekuma Eze, said the company’s education-focused interventions are anchored on building sustainable societies. According to him, education goes beyond classroom instruction and must be supported with values that inspire responsibility, confidence, and awareness of the role individuals play in shaping their environment.

He noted that Rite Foods’ approach is not limited to material support but is focused on empowering young minds with knowledge and life skills that prepare them for a rapidly evolving world. This philosophy, he explained, aligns with the company’s broader sustainability strategy, which seeks to balance business growth with positive social and environmental impact.

As the global community marks the International Day of Education, Rite Foods Limited continues to set a strong example of how Nigerian FMCG brands can align education support with sustainability and community development. Through initiatives that merge learning, environmental responsibility, and social inclusion, the company is reinforcing its role as a purpose-driven organisation committed to creating enduring value for both people and the planet.
